"World Go Blue" is Alfa's 5th release, and her most mature yet. This melody-driven collection of autobiographical songs were inspired by her move to Los Angeles in 2011. With just the right amount of pop-folk vigor to get stuck in a listener's head, each song touches on complex but universal themes, from lost innocence to the restlessness of being a 20-something, and the hope that exists despite life’s ebb and flow.

Track Name: War!
I left the call on the telephone
the message said that you weren't home
I let the war go on in my head.

Let the tea steep for seven hours
told the neighbors, don't be alarmed
it's just a case of the small-town blues.

I need a new place and a good talking to.

War, War
the fight, what is it for?
And why can't I find peace anymore? (ooh)
I've gone
miles from where I'm from
I stand still but don't feel complete
(and?) I won't admit defeat.

Mama said it's an easy fix
a restless pain when you're 26
the kind of thing that you shouldn't mind (ooh)
So you dream of a bigger life
but you're blind to what's inside:
a heart grown old too soon.

Heads I win, tails I lose
I'm coming up with every excuse.
I won't find answers in these doubts
I work too hard to be let down…

Track Name: Blue
You and me / we work together
endlessly, we're bound forever
hold me close / don't let me go.

We fight sometimes / we kiss and make up
epic highs and pointless breakups
I'm stuck on you / I promise to…

be the one you'll always run to
effortless and close enough to
tell your secrets to
so take a seat we'll watch the world go blue.
blue ooh ooh

Give me time / to get my mind straight
wanna run, want to test my fate
now I know / it's you for sure…

I'll be the one you always run to
effortless and perfect for you
I make sense with you
so take a seat we'll watch the world go blue
blue ooh ooh

Chorus chord interlude (with kazoo) 8 bars

Bridge (more intimate)
C6 Em Dm C - Csus
If you wait long enough
til I've made up my mind enough
promise you I will be there.
F D7 A7 G
Sometimes I can read your eyes
and then I am paralyzed
there is no winning without you (up on this note)

hold me close
don't let me go.

Blue ooh ooh…
(ad libs)
Blue ooh ooh (over the bridge words x2)

be the one you'll always run to
effortless and close enough to
tell your secrets to (go up)
so take a seat we'll watch the world go blue.
Track Name: First Sight of Land

You are the first sight of land When I am wayward at sea. You have my heart in your hands I need you desperately.
Come away with me...

Over oceans and seas navigate to every stream just to find my resting place. From the mountains to shore but I don't have to look far at all 'cause you are my first sight of land.

Our old stories keep me warm on cold California nights I slept shotgun in the car you drove straight for miles and miles

Over oceans and seas, Palisades to Tennessee
Searching for my resting place.
From the mountains to shore but I don't have to look far at all
'cause you are my first sight of land.

Now I know
You're real to me.
I'll be waiting... for you

When you go,
Come back to me
I'll be anchored at sea. at sea.

Track Name: Missed Opportunity
Don't make me do the things that you want me to do
like going out dancing and listening to
all your songs about somebody new.

A crossword game you play while you're shuffling names
I'm the answer to questions you wanted to say
eight letters across for true love.

Don't wanna be the girl on the side waiting for her goodbye
holding out hope that you'll finally find
I'm the one that you need by until you see
I won't wait till you fall for me
So call me a missed opportunity.

Our friendship to the test, a broken ego at best
but I'd rather hang on to whatever is left of my pride
if it means goodbye

You know I can't refuse things you want me to do
oh, I'd be hangin' on by a string if I could
so I'll walk away 'til some other day.

And it'll break my heart for sure
I'm supposed to be yours
'cause I saw it in a dream last night.

Track Name: Unwritten Rule
Please say you knew it was all a game
nothing ventured nothing gained, so I tell myself
I find it's hard to say those heavy things, i am still imagining you'd never think of me
Finally you show up at my door
a hero from a book
I'd never read before

In silence we made
a promise we saved
and unwritten rule between us
To have and to hold
the sides of this wall are breaking
under the pressure…

Childhood, chocolates and curly q's
the way we are is nothing new, innocence is short
one step is too far a distance to
the fear you have inside of you…the fear I have in me.

Maybe I'll give in to you, dear
despite all my good intent
like a dream that disappeared

La da das…
And in a moment, it takes a moment
I could see it coming
wayward eyes and a pack of lies
I wanted to be stronger than this
I never thought I'd be the one
to fall in love with anyone ...

Goodbyes only make me wanna cry
there will be no tears tonight
I'll wait another day

I know it's wrong to him and wrong to you
I can't control the things I do
or trust the things I say

Track Name: Replaced
I was born inside a tree
my fingers curled around the branches
the leaves fell quiet from my knees
the sunlight held me in its latches

And then I grew into a girl
a woman made just for this world
a wounded heart and painted face
a wicked soul to bear the days.
Don't let me be replaced

We are babies underneath
that innocence is our completeness
but we are quiet in despair
we should be shouting out in fear

I cried out to you once or twice
I heard you calling to me late last night
I see the error in my ways
I am beginning… to see the end of days

Chorus x2
Track Name: Cup of Coffee
VERSE 1: Some say love is the answer
blue skies and sunsets
they're not for me
jaded the polish has faded
the heart isn't simple
so I built a wall.

the same refrain
I hear in my head
is telling me…

How we began
with a cup of coffee then.
Oh what I would give
to get back to the palm of your hand
tell me to stay
remembering the days
when I was not afraid of falling endlessly …
over a cup coffee

VERSE 2: Back then, we were so innocent
took every chance to give away our hears
whoa, baby, can we return to that?
Or is there no turning back from where we are?

But the same refrain
is stuck in my brain
telling me…

when the music starts
you're folding me into your arms
under cloudless skies
counting the shooting stars
we are falling in love likes are young... again

Track Name: Bergenfield, NJ (feat. Marc Lacuesta)
They met at the swings in the park every night
to count all the stars that fell from the summer sky
Fall, it was over, they drifted apart
10 years gone by, but I still remember

Can we ever go home?
Can we ever go home?
Can we ever go home?
Can we ever…

Now I'm drawn back to the world that I loved
the streets that I knew and faces familiar
they smile and they say, that I'm still the same
What do they know? Everything's changed.

Can you ever go home?
Can you ever go home again?

Someday you'll find, what you've left behind will still remain.
